Stop Selling and get to Know Them!
How can you make your business truly successful using social media?
It all comes down to building relationships and trust. When you communicate to the world on Facebook, Twitter or another social media outlet, you need to build that business relationship based on trust. Rarely will you find anyone interested in clicking your “shamelessly shamefully plugged” link to buy your latest and greatest eBook, product or services – especially if you never established a personal rapport with them.
The delete button becomes my instant best friend when someone inundates my walls, posts, friends, etc. with spam – yep, it’s spamming folks, it’s NOT marketing.
Social media marketing is all about getting to know others that share the same interest as you, where you can contribute and mastermind in discussion areas or groups. It’s a place to offer insight and advice and develop a personal relationship.
Today, we live in a business world where we are on a more personal and laid back connection with our customers and clients than ever. This is a great advantage for business owners because we finally get to push that outdated, stiff corporate philosophy aside and show genuine interest in one another and our lives.
Keep this tip in mind the next time you post: Marketing is NOT about selling. It is about connecting and interacting with your customers. When you gain trust, you will secure a lifelong customer and that is the definition of SOLD.
